Kayak Equipment Reviews
I am not one for writing many reviews but feel that this gem of a reel needs some recognition along with a couple of rods which will follow in the coming weeks. Anyway this review is my findings of it and to be completely honest it’s an absolute cracking little reel.
Maxximus Blackwater reel.
After a couple of years using my trusty Yak Titan dry suit & missing out on winter fishing trips, Personally due to the suit not having a hood, it was time for a change. This resulted in a trip to Escape Watersports.
The guys there have a wealth of knowledge & willing to advise on the best product for the sport & your abilities. After browsing the rails, trying on every suit, taking an interest in their advantages/disadvantages which took some time, I decided the suit for me would be the Typhoon PS220 Xtreme Dry Suit.
Whether you’re a shore-bound fisherman wanting to kayak to reach new waters and distant fish, a recreational kayaker looking to bring his passion for fishing aboard the plastic vessel, or a boat fisherman who recognizes fishing kayaks as an exciting and relatively inexpensive way to get out on the water, there’s something in kayak fishing for just about anyone.
Going back in the summer i was on the look out for a new paddle and after a lengthy talk with Gus from Escapewatersports and a few trys on a few Carbon paddles in the werner range it was decided that i needed the Werner Kalliste with a crack shaft, so we ordered it and within a few days it was in stock.
The werner Kalliste is named after a Greek Island meaning "the Best", it is the ultimate low angle paddle giving you effortless silky smooth forward strokes, The paddle has made a massive amount of difference to my paddling, as before i suffered Fatigue with the Kalliste this is a thing of the past, The paddle is elegant to look at, i know its not the looks that perform but it does look nice.
